With the entire working from home suddenly becoming a grand reality (thanks to the Novel Coronavirus!), our not so ready home is bearing the brunt of having to offer a comfortable seating comparable to the state of the art offices.

It’s failing big time. But is there is one thing, I have learnt it that placing a laptop at a distance and in a position such that the top of the laptop screen is almost horizontal to the eye works well.

In order to make that work though, we need a keyboard and a mouse. While I did have a couple of wireless keyboards and a mouse also, but given that it’s not just me using these devices. With me is the entire family, my 2 kids who are having their online classes and a wife who is a full time employee too.

So, long story short, I’m falling short of a wireless mouse. And, that’s where this trick works well. You can convert your iPhone to a decent windows mouse.

Two installations required – an App on the Apple Store called Remote Mouse and one on your computer depending on which OS you’re running. I used this for Windows 10 and it went well.

You have to connect both the phone and the computer to the same WIFI network.

One issue I faced though, I couldn’t connect it using one WIFI (Connection Failed each time) but it worked fine with the other WIFI I have. May be the FAQs would help if you face that situation.

But I’m happy using this for now. Reference links below:

This app works for iPhone, iPad and Android too. Go for it if you’re in a similar situation and want a mouse quick and easy.
